Well.. My lady and I Got around 150 or so, 10 % jumbo, balance medium to large. Most (75%)were dipped from large chunks of floating grass, not many hidden in the grass. Tide was weak however, Tommorro night I'm going to try baiting with rabbit pellets or something, Any ideas are appreciated.

I made a bucket of supposed shrimp chum...Rock salt, rabbit pellets, flour, water, and cat food.
I don't know if this helped or not but they seem to be attracted to it, crabs sure do like it, kept stepping on them in the bait areas. This chum recipe was found on the net somewhere, they use it to cast net them in deep water or something like that, Not much sport in that though. My goal is to get a higher concentration instead of one every twenty feet or so .

Tonight was windy, only a few dozen, quit early and came in. Anyone else ever try chumming?
Any recipes? Thanks, I gotta get one of those ozello's next run, sounds like the way to go.

have any of u guys/gals tried shrimping off that seawall at night using underwater lights? I'd bet my last buck they are there-u should at least try it or tell me whre it is and I will certainly give it a go-i love the Englewood area-i've been to Colony don Pedro 2x and think of it as the best private vacation location in Florida!

How deep is the water off the end of the seawall? If its 4'+ u guys are prolly missing tons of shrimp by not dipping at night-let me know!

we are over on the East Coast around Oak Hill-we have heard from folks in Jacksonville area where they use cast nets in the daytime for shrimp in 25 feet of water-hurts my back to think of it lol I tried cat food once in my traps-not much difference-fish and crabs loved it more than shrimp-good luck on the rabbit food.

They use a cornmeal mush rolled in a ball to bait the shrimp-we dont use any bait at all-the shrimp run down the river with a heavy tide pushing them-if u miss one he is GONE cause the current is going so strong-we dip from boats anchored perpendicularly to the current-with underwater lights and dipnets-some nights there are literally hundreds of boats out there.

In our club we have shrimp and fish tournaments each month-look us up :)
