Florida Simmered Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 1 1/2-ounce bag of prepared shrimp boil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 quarts water
  • 2 pounds Florida shrimp, peeled and deveined

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients, except shrimp, in a 4-quart saucepan.
  2. Cover and bring to a boil on high heat.
  3. Add shrimp, reduce heat to medium high, cover and stir occasionally 6 to 8 minutes, or until the largest shrimp is opaque throughout.
  4. Drain, chill and serve with favorite dipping sauce.
