Welcome to Ozello Shrimpers' shrimping map system. Thanks to the wonders of Google Maps and Google Earth, we can plot out the places you are most likely to discover shrimp when you head out. This map is of East Central Florida. As this is our first attempt at publicly displaying mapping data using maps, the data is based on our personal experiences. We know that you will want to contribute your information to our map too and we encourage you to do it. We are working on making this mapping system more interactive but in the meantime, share your spots on the Ozello Shrimper Public Contributions Page located on Google Maps. We will periodically check on the site and import your data into the versions on our site. The points on this map are located next to bridges. They contain only the locations at the present time. We intend to add additional information in the future. For now, use the locations as references and remember that the reason the bridges are noted is because shrimp pass between the openings during their runs like the neck of a bottle. You can use a boat to anchor in their path or dip net them from the sides of the bridge itself. Please remember that you must use a broadband internet connection to view this page. It is data intensive and will take forever to load if you attempt to access it from dialup. |
