The Ozello Shrimper is a lightweight, personal, recreational shrimping device used primarily in shallow water areas subject to regular tidal action. The Ozello Shrimper permits an individual to walk in ankle to knee deep sea water at night and pick up live shrimp from sea grass beds. The best times of year for "sport shrimping" vary by geographic location but are marked by long, strong, outgoing tides that begin just around sunset. As you probably in the brief animation when you entered the site, this makes for an interesting experience as you wander the grass flats at night with a headlight on your head with several of your good friends.
This site has been set up to allow you to learn how to shrimp recreationally, find valuable tips and resources and meet others who share an interest in shrimping. Of course, if you are interested in shrimping, we welcome you to visit our store to purchase or preview some of our equipment. We sell everything you need to get started and accept nearly all forms of payment, even cash (sorry, no clamshells.) If you want any advice on what to buy or what you need, feel free to post a message to our forum.
Our forum is open to the public and is free to join. We provide as much information as possible regarding shrimping in your area. Right now, the forum is primarily focused on Florida shrimping and is divided according to region and county. You can also find local media reports, recipes, stories and information on good places to go shrimping! In the future, we will be integrating a database so that you and other shrimpers can report your successes and find out how others around you are doing.
